I’ve been completely for the whole mason jar craze going around DIYers, pinterest and blogs. I can’t help but swoon over almost every mason jar DIY I see. Unfortunately, it seems a little hard to get mason jars here in Singapore but I can’t wait to get my hands on some when I go over, hopefully soon!
I like that mason jars are made of glass because…i love glass. Since I bake a lot, glass is always my go to form of storage as they don’t cling on to color or smell and last forever.
I’ve been pinterest-ing every chance I get these days to get more inspiration and here’s some mason jar DIYs and ideas I’m loving so far!
Pincushion and sewing equipment storage – unfortunately the pin I found doesn’t link to the original site
Leash and treat holder by VintageFlairFurnish – how nice if I could have one of the dogs and one for the cat!
Today was such a lazy sunday. I really envy people who are able to sleep few hours but yet are full of life because I’m the exact opposite. If I don’t get at least 8-9 hours of sleep, I tend to get very restless and lethargic the next day. And, by the time I reach the weekend, I usually sleep at least 10-11 hours and wake up near noon on Saturday. Interestingly, I feel myself needing less and less sleep since I came back to Seattle. I actually do enjoy jet-lag since for once, I get to enjoy the mornings and I feel that the day is just significantly longer. I suspect that I need more sleep because I don’t go into deep sleep easily. I fall asleep quickly and am quite a sound sleeper but I dream a lot a lot a lot. My friends laugh at me all the time because I often dream about microsoft excel since I use it at work a lot.
Anyway, I was pinterest-ing… as usual :P and came across this lovely DIY by lovely little life – Easy DIY Washi Tape Serving Tray. I absolutely love the choice of washi tape in that tutorial and since washi tape is so easy to get around, the combinations and designs are just endless. Inspired by Hannah’s tutorial, I decided to make washi tape coasters. It took me a longgggg time to decide which washi tape I should use since the limited washi tape I had seemed hard to match. In the end, I felt that going with a color theme was easiest and decided on blue. These coasters were really fun to make and I was lucky since we accumulated these ceramic tiles from when we were building our house more than ten years ago.
I’ve always had a really tough time buying the right leash for Fudge. Since leashes are really…nothing more than a piece of material with a snap hook to me, I don’t fancy paying $20 for a simple leash. I have walked into a pet store at least 10 times with the intention to buy a leash, only to find myself walking out without buying anything.
I’ve been wanting to do an oil based enamel paint project for a while now (by a while, I mean like…6 months? :P) and I finally got round to doing it! I was originally inspired by Painted Flowerpots by Martha Stewart and I always imagine how these bright colored paints will bring such a different vibe to an outdoor terrace, a garden, or even a living room.
The other day, I went to Art Friend (a local art store in Singapore) to look for tissue paper for crafting. I approached one of the store staff and said “do you have tissue paper?” and he gave me the weirdest look and said “HUH?!” Well, yes – it is called tissue paper. I use tissue paper a lot and absolutely love to create patterns on them! They usually come in only solid colors, which provide a lot of room for creativity.
